This short document will summarize the key findings and presents the main propositions put forward at the workshop for wider consideration, further debate, and action.

[9]These summaries cover the main ideas of each of the papers commissioned for the Cairo workshop, as well as their implications for action to promote global democracy. These statements will be translated into 8 languages on the BGD website.

Book
Authors will rewrite the papers presented in Cairo in the light of the workshop discussions, looking in particular to have the pieces speak across regions, cultures and disciplines. Heba Raouf Ezzat and Jan Aart Scholte will take the lead in editing the papers into book form, with the aim of publication in 2011.
