On 12th November Egality and Building Global Democracy presented an open seminar on global issues.

Who decides how we combat global poverty?

The Building Global Democracy Programme is now beginning to make plans for our third
project which is to be held in New Delhi on 1-3 September 2010. The participants will be announced on the website in due course. This workshop will tackle the issue of Citzen Learning for Global Democracy.
Dealing with issues surrounding Conceptualising Global Democracy, the upcoming Cairo workshop will promote intercultural debate and discussion centring on how Global Democracy itself can be conceived. All of the remaining discussants have now confirmed their attendance.
These discussants, coming from both civil and official backgrounds, will question, debate, and discuss the concrete, global implications of each author's paper. These discussants include:
Each BGD project comprises a workshop opening a possibility for intercultural, interdisciplinary and interregional debate. All 10 authors with their abstract titles for the Conceptualising Global Democracy project have now been confirmed.
On 6 June 2009 a team of authors presented the Civil Society and Accountable Global Governance project at the annual conference of the Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS).
