The Civil Society and Accountable Global Governance project has involved some 70 participants from 28 countries. Fifteen participants are academic researchers with specialist knowledge of civil society engagement of a particular global governance institution. Twenty-two participants are discussants from citizen action groups and official circles who have extensive first-hand experience of civil society relations with the global institutions in question. On the one hand the practitioner discussants bring to the project a crucial ‘reality check’ on the studies. On the other hand they take from the project analytical insights and new awareness of the operations of other global agencies. Another thirty practitioners and researchers have joined the Civil Society and Accountable Global Governance project as chairs of workshop sessions and other workshop contributors.
