Marta Cumbi is an Economist with a Master Degree in National Development and Project Planning from Bradford University, UK. She joined the Foundation for Community Development (FDC), a Mozambican not for profit foundation in 1994 where she played different roles and currently she is the Director for Gender, Development and Cooperation Unit.
She is a member of governing boards of the Mozambican Debt Gorup, Mozambican Education Network, Forum for African Women Educationalists - Mozambique chapter, and G20 (a national civil society platform advocating for poverty erradication). She is also one of the vice coordinators of SADC National Commission for Human Development and Special Programmes Committee. At regional and international levels, Marta Cumbi is a board member of CIVICUS and AFRODAD, she is an ECOSOCC Council member and and FAWE Prominent Educationalist.
