Before coming to the Programme, Laura undertook an undergraduate degree in Comparative American Literature at the University of Warwick, with a year of study in Puerto Rico. From this, Laura went on to take an MA in Caribbean Literature at the University, specialising in the role and importance of literature in creating a global consciousness.

Laura has a professional background in administrative roles, working within events management and as a senior administrative assistant. She has also worked as an editor and proof-reader upon a forthcoming collection of Guyanese Literature.
