Is global television a force for global democracy?

Can the internet advance democratic participation in global affairs?

These are just some of the questions that will be explored at our ‘Citizen Learning for Global Democracy (CLGD)' workshop in New Delhi in September 2010.

Many people around the world have limited knowledge of global issues and how they are governed. This limits their ability to engage in global politics. The aim of this workshop is to look at what kinds of learning could be adopted to enable greater public awareness and as a result participation in global affairs.

The workshop will bring people, from acadmic, offical, civil society and business sectors around the world, together to examine a broad range of methods of citizen learning for global democracy.
