Dr. Atom Mkhitaryan is the President of the Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia, head of the Scientific Policy Department at the State Committee of Science of the Republic of Armenia. He holds a PhD degree in Physics.

After graduating from Yerevan State University, he became interested in youth movements, non-formal education and civil society development. He was editor-in-chief of the Bulletin of Armenian Youth, author of a number of research publications, an expert and co-author of the National Youth Report of Armenia. 

Since 2005, he has been involved in representing European Union “Youth in Action” program in Armenia.

In 2008, he was elected vice-president of Youth Express Network international NGO, headquartered in Strasbourg, with member-organizations in more than 20 European countries.
