Daisy Cooper, co-discussant of the Commonwealth study, is the Senior Planning Officer at the Commonwealth Secretariat. In this position, she is responsible for co-ordinating the development of the Secretariat’s forward work programme and strategic directions, co-ordinating and servicing the Secretariat’s governing bodies, and is involved in strengthening relations and consultation with partner organisations and pan-Commonwealth civil society. Previously she was the Acting Head of the Commonwealth Policy Studies Unit, an independent think-tank focusing on issues affecting the contemporary Commonwealth, having worked for 18 months as the Project Officer for the Commonwealth-UN Co-operation for Development project. Daisy has an LLM in Public International Law from Nottingham University and an LLB Law Degree (Hons) from Leeds University. She has also worked as a Research Assistant on an International Terrorism and Human Rights project and as a Tutor on British Constitutional Law at Leeds University.
